Turn off autocomplete with trending searches. The notifications setting controls whether or not updates display in the notification area.set it to on or off as desired.you can also set a ringtone or vibrate option on urgent. Disable it by remove trending from google feed.

You can turn off notifications, upcoming events, drop in, trending topics, etc. I just want to get rid of the purple banner just below my toolbar that wastes screen space and that i don t want. There was actually a discussion over there on how to get rid of this but no answer other than changing settings in your reddit account (which i don't have). Disable it by remove trending from google feed.
